Mitsu Nishiwaki is a managing director and senior international consulting actuary in Willis Towers Watson’s Global Services & Solutions practice. Mitsu has over 25 years of experience in the industry, including over twelve years with Willis Towers Watson. Mitsu has a wide variety of experience in the international retirement and benefits area and has worked extensively with retirement programs in North America, Europe and Asia. Mitsu serves as the lead international coordinating actuary for some of the firm’s largest clients including two Fortune 50 companies. Mitsu is the Global Actuarial Leader for the Global Services & Solutions team. In this role, he serves as the chief actuary for the Global Services & Solutions team and oversees the 300+ global coordinated clients managed by the Global Services & Solutions team. Mitsu is one of the firm’s experts on a variety of pension accounting standards, including the ASCs, IFRS, as well as several local GAAP standards. Mitsu received a B.S. in operations research and a B.A. in economics from Cornell University. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, as well as an enrolled actuary. Mitsu is fluent in English and Japanese.
